Arcade Game MP3 Player

MP3-R1 (DUAL PLAYBACK)  Price: $105.00 USD

Module Description:

This is a 'Plug and Play' assembly.  The board has a 4 wire 'Jones Plug' for attaching to the 4 pin socket located near the speaker.  The Speaker plugs into the board using the 1/8" mono plug attached to the speaker.  A 5 volt power supply is provided to power the board using the 2.1mm power jack on the board.  There is a 120 Volt power jack located near the speaker for the 5Volt power supply.

The module measure 2.0" x 2.0" and has standoffs for #4 screws.

About 'MP3' and the USB jack on the module.  The MP3 module responds as a USB drive when plugged into a computer.  You can view the files or change the files to suit your desires.  The file names require a specific naming convention as explained below.  The MP3 tunes can be either stereo or mono.  The 'mono' versions of the MP3 tunes take up half the space of stereo tunes.  If you need the file converted to 'mono' or want the file modified I can do that for a small fee.  About $20 for simple changes (volume adjust will most likely be the request as I found big differences in the playback volume of different tunes).

This 'MP3 Module' was desigined for a very old 'Clown Rifle Game'.  There are 3 states for this player:

1. Power on (game not on).  No sound

2. Game on.  This is a set of normally open contacts provided by the 'Reset Relay'.  The contacts close with 'game on'.

3. Curtain Open:  When the curtain opens, about 34VAC is applied via the White and Black wires. This action causes the board to switch from 'game on' to 'curtain open' playback.

Playback Selection:

Audio Volume:  There is a 7 pin dual header for selection of volume for playback.  Move the jumper to the desired position (this can be done while audio is playing)

Game ON:  The module has a dual 4 pin header that allows 1 of 4 tunes when the game is on.  These 4 selections associate to 00007.mp3, 00008.mp3, 00009.mp3, 00010.mp3 of the MP3 player.  The file names of the tunes have to match these file names.  The jumper can be moved during playback to select the desired 'track'.

Curtain Open:  The 'Curtain Open' signal causes the play of tunes 1 to 6 by jumper selection.  The circuit board has a dual 6 pin header that allows for 1 of 6 tunes when the curtain is open.  These 6 selections are associated with 00001.mp3 thru 00006.mp3.  The files names have to match this namimg scheme in order to play.  The jumper can be moved during playback to select the desired 'track'.

Note: The board comes with 2 playback files.  Game On = Circus Sound, Curtain Open = Fast Circus Sound

Note: The dip switch is set to ON, OFF, ON.  This selections causes the MP3 player to loop on the currently selected tune.

Important:  Because the Jones Plug' is only 4 pins, it is easy to plug in with the wrong orientation.  Plugging it in with the wrong orientation will destroy the entire playback module and will void the warranty.

Plug Orientation:  Plug the 4 pin 'Jones Plug' with the White and Black wires 'up'.  The Red and Y-R wires will be down.

Note: If you have need of a custom sound board, please contact me for an estimate.
