BrightSign DMX Interface

Control the BrightSign with a DMX Controller!

BS_HD_485X     BS-HD-485X (DMX Receiver)

Brightsign DMX Receiver ( a DMX Controller runs the Brightsign).

for: 'HD' and 'XD' with GPIO

Features:

See the schematic for pin outs and connections.

Description:

This board is a DMX 'Receiver' for controlling the Brightsign via a DMX controller.  When powered up, the board sets the GPIO all High (no buttons pressed).  The DMX controller should be programmed to set bits high to activate the the Brightsign buttons (BTN-0 thru BTN7 will go low to activate) by not inserting the Jumper at the 'Opt1' header on the board.  The inputs to the Brightsign (BTN0 through BTN7) are controlled by the DMX controller.

I.E. The 'standard' button interface for the Brightsign is normally open switches.  So the BTN-0 through BTN-7 are all high.  IF the DMX controller sends decimal 1, then Btn0 will go low.

Convert the decimal number to bits as shown by this table below.  Then add the decimal numbers to get the correct number to send to the Brightsign for multiple 'BTN=Low'.

Single Button Selection (active low) to Decimal:

Note: There is a Header on the board Labeled OPT1.  By inserting a jumper there, the firmware will not invert the input from the DMX controller.  So a 255 from the DMX controllw will set all bits high.
